Our founder grew up in the mountains, far from the ocean. For years, the underwater world was something he had only imagined.

That changed during a trip, when a simple day out at sea became an unforgettable first underwater experience.

He was hooked. And every time he returned to the water, he found something new to love.

Along the way, he began to wonder how the experience could be made even more convenient. What if getting ready for an underwater adventure could be simpler? What if it were easier to bring the right equipment along, even for a spontaneous trip?

That curiosity led to one simple question:

What if a scuba tank could be smaller, lighter, and easier to bring along?

That question became the inspiration behind SMACO's approach to innovation.
