Frequently Asked Questions
What is the maximum operating depth of this product?
The maximum operating depth depends on the tank size:
0.5L–1L Tanks: Suitable for use up to 5 meters (16 feet). When used with a full-face mask, the maximum depth is 3 meters (10 feet).
2L Tanks: Suitable for use up to 10 meters (33 feet).
How long does a full tank last?
Breathing time varies depending on depth, activity level, and breathing rate. On average, 0.5L tanks provide approximately 6–10 minutes of air at shallow depths. 1L tanks offer around 15–20 minutes, while 2L tanks may last 30–35 minutes.
Always monitor your pressure gauge during use. If the pressure gauge shows less than 2 MPa, return to the surface and refill before diving again.
Is certification required to use this product?
While certification is not required for shallow use, it is strongly recommended that all users receive proper instruction and certification from an accredited diving training agency. Improper use may lead to serious injury or death.
Can I use this product in cold water?
This product is designed for use in waters with temperatures above 10°C (50°F). Do not use in colder conditions.
Can I travel with this product?
Yes. Due to high-pressure regulations, cylinders must be empty and detached from the respirator when traveling by air. Always check with your airline’s policy beforehand.
What kind of air can I fill the tank with?
Only fill this tank with compressed air that meets human respiratory standards (EN12021). Do not use oxygen or other gases, as they may damage the internal system and pose safety risks.
What other precautions should I take before diving?
Before each dive, inspect the tank for any signs of damage or leaks and confirm it is fully pressurized. Do not use the product if it appears damaged or malfunctioning.
Never dive alone. Always dive with a partner to ensure safe operation.
Users over the age of 60 must obtain medical clearance from a doctor prior to use. This product is not suitable for pregnant individuals or those with medical conditions that make diving unsafe.
How often does the tank need servicing?
Have the product serviced annually by a professional. The gas cylinder requires a hydrostatic test every 5 years and should undergo visual inspection at least once a year.

The S700 1.9L mini scuba tank kit by SMACO is a high-quality, lightweight, and portable setup, I'm not a pro diver at all, and actually, this will be my first scuba set ever and diving at all, I have a good friend who has been diving forever and he's been teaching me to dive and use the SMACO system here in South Florida. so far I dived in a pool a few times and we went diving in a beautiful reef not too long ago, the 1.9L tank can provide you with about 20 minutes of air time and is not recommended to go deeper than 10ft. I used my friend's air compressor to refill the tank but I'm planning to purchase SMACO's air compressor for myself so I can refill it when I need to. so far I'm very impressed with this kit's performance and quality and highly recommend getting one because it's beautiful down there and it's a great experience.
This portable mini scuba diving tank offers around 25-30 minutes of air supply, making it a handy option for quick diving sessions. Its compact size is convenient for travel and easy to carry. However, due to its smaller capacity, it's best suited for shorter dives and might not suffice for longer underwater explorations. Nevertheless, it's a convenient and efficient choice for shorter dives or emergency use. However, the refilling process can be expensive and somewhat inconvenient, affecting its overall usability.I sincerely hope that you will find this review helpful.
This SMACO S700 Mini Scuba Tank 1.9L Portable Mini Scuba Diving Tank is designed to last up to 30 minutes which is great for the backyard but I am an avid snorkeler and wanted this for shallow reef dives. After receiving this kit I needed a way to fill it. I have no dive shop near and didn't want to run to a dive shop every time I wanted to use it in the pool. I saw an expensive hand pump but it was way cheaper than a powered compressor so I bought the hand pump which said it was good for scuba tanks but it did not work. This is where reading the fine print pays off. The hand pump was fine for scuba tanks as long as they were very small capacity. I started looking through powered air compressors but found the cheaper ones did not have adequate power to fill a 1.9L tank. Now I had to decide to forgo scuba diving or buy the expensive SMACO air compressor. The compressor costs more than the scuba tank kit.Once I received the SMACO compressor, which you can see in the picture, the compressor filled the tank. After filling the tank pressure gauge on the tank and the pressure gauge on the compressor matched exactly which validated the accuracy of the gauges. I let the tank sit overnight to see if the pressure dropped and it did not so good seals. As is it too cold in the ocean this time on year I opted to test it in my cold pool. It worked great. Easy to breath through the regulator and I lasted 20 minutes underwater before getting out. There was still air available so it would have made the thirty minutes.I did notice a slight smell to the air I was breathing. Not sure why. Guess I need to check the filter.Bottom line is that this MACO S700 Mini Scuba Tank 1.9L Portable Mini Scuba Diving Tank is great fun and easy to fill and use but you have to make the investment in the compressor to use it.
I recently purchased a 1.9 L portable mini scuba tank from the SMACO store. Here's my review:Lightweight and Portable: This mini scuba tank is incredibly lightweight and easy to carry. It's a fantastic choice for short and small dives, offering great convenience without the need for a larger tank.Complete Package: I was pleasantly surprised to find that this tank comes with all the necessary regulators and gauges. This means that I can be well-prepared for a dive without needing to purchase additional equipment.Dive Pack Included: The fact that it also includes a dive pack for your tank is a significant advantage. It ensures you have a safe and secure way to carry your tank while diving.Compact Design: The mini scuba tank is designed for easy packing and transport. This compact design is perfect for divers who need a convenient solution for their diving adventures.Peace of Mind: Having this mini scuba tank offers peace of mind, knowing I have a reliable backup for short dives without the need to rely on rental equipment. In summary, the SMACO mini scuba tank is a smart investment for divers looking for a lightweight, portable, and complete solution for short and small dives. The included regulators and gauges, along with the dive pack, make it a comprehensive package that ensures your safety and convenience. Its compact design is perfect for travel and adventures. I highly recommend it to fellow divers looking for a reliable backup or primary solution for shorter dives.

The Mini Scuba Tank by Smaco, is a great way to be able to take short (under 40 min) dives and have it all in a case, except for a few wishes. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying.I. Quality – It feels and acts like very good quality materials, but not top of the line. I’d put it in the upper-middle tier of the quality scale for this type of set-up and guess it’ll hold up well over time, depending on where you use it and if you clean it after each use.II. Performance – It’s a nice little set-up that comes with everything needed except the pump in my case. You can easily put everything together once the tank is filled and quickly go on a short dive. Everything has worked great so far and provided no issues. The protective case is a very nice touch that should protect everything very well in storage, but unfortunately you can’t have the filled tank in the case with the current set-up.Overall, this is a great way to have a easily portable mini scuba set-up for just about anything. Its good quality, easy to use and works wonderfully. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it.If you’d find it helpful to see an up-close visual inspection of this product, I recommend you watch my included video in full screen or landscape. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, well it’s a video! You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. Hopefully it was helpful in your decision.
I have not used it yet but have everything set up. The info that came with it is great and I have read everything. The filters are a little pricey.
I have been pleasantly surprised at the quality and precision craftsmanship of these tanks and associated equipment (regulator, gauge, etc.... Convenient, portable and very easy to use, I do not hesitate when it comes to recommending this setup. Excellent augment to anyone's diving inventory.
The products I received are very good, the materials seem sturdy and the compressor is also very good!
Works beautifully
As many others have said, I also got it for diving around my sailboat, bottom cleaning, prop. access and so on. Works for about 15 min with a single charge, and needs more than an hour (with recommended breaks) to refill with a 12V air compressor available; the biggest problem so far is buoyancy, cannot go beyond 6 feet depth or so, therefore not clear if it works for anchor retrieval but will play with some belt weights to see if this can be improved without been sinked:) So far 4 stars as a good emergency solution.
This air tank is comfortable to wear and great for beginners! I was able to get the tank filled and the air comes out smoothly.
Really fun tank for short dives
I got this kit as an into to scuba to see if I'd enjoy it as much as snorkling and snuba.. yes I do. The downside is the tank is small so you can't do any long dives but its a great kit if you want to just do small little dives in rivers, lakes or reefs. I wish it was easier to fill up on the go, though but the case it comes with for storage is very nice.
2L tank and compressor arrived fast and working as advertised. very good quality.
This is a great little rescue tank set but does not replace your regular gear. You will only get about 15 minutes of air from this tank. This was meant to augment your current full scuba gear. I take it with me in case someone gets into trouble and needs enough air to get back up to the top. As others have said, don't go below about 10' with this equipment. If used as intended, it is fine and comes with everything you need.
This little portable set is super handy for doing work on docks or boats, going after lost phones or keys. It is well made, easy to use, and seems like it will last a while! Recommend!
Solid mini-tank setup with vest, pressure gauge, and regulator. With it being a small tank, you'll either need a few mini-tanks on hand or a compressor to keep that bottle filled between dives. SMACO offers one, it's a little on the pricey side, but works perfectly for keeping mini-bottles filled on the go. You can use this tank solo for short reef or river dives, or use it as a backup to your regular tank setup. Recommended.
I have to say, this mini scuba set it really cool and very well made. I didn’t have any problem getting the tank filled off another larger scuba tank. After that assembly was simple and the whole rig was very comfortable. I actually tested it out in my pool and used it to replace the pool light. It worked perfect and the regulator was even comfortable to breath through. The carrying case it comes with is no joke, everything fits in it and has its spot. They truly cut no corners in the build process of this set-up. I’m really looking forward to bringing this scalloping this coming July! It will be nice to just toss this on and jump in without getting all the dive equipment out and on/off at every spot. This would probably be a good little lobstering setup too!
Lost my watch after a cliff jump. Pulled this bad boy out and found it after 14 minutes of searching. This thing is a life saver. Literally
What a great scuba kit. I have used it several times now here in the Florida spring i live near. It’s great for when someone drops something down in the deep area that no one can access on one breath of air. It’s also a lot of fun just to really immerse ones self in the environment without having to have a big bulky rig. I’ve taken down to the local jetties and was able to make the 3 mile walk from the parking lot to the deeper area and do a bit of spear fishing. That was really nice. Usually that is an all day event to drag all the gear you need that far through sand really is a chore. Not any more. A quick walk there and back and plenty of time to get a few fish and I’m no more tired than if i had carried nothing at all. This really has improved how I plan my time in the water and now i see myself going much more often. Now i just need the compressor and id have the ultimate weekend package.
